Revell’s sons Tim and Andrew were both diagnosed with the rare and deadly disease, inspiring his determination to fight for a cure. After sixteen years, he will exceed $200,000 in donations raised in 2021. Their current fundraiser is hosted on GoFundMe. ....

Mills was the first in his family to attend college and was a member of Tau Beta Pi. He earned his master’s degree from Stanford and worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers for 21 years, retiring in 1986 with the Army’s Meritorious Civilian Service Medal. He then worked as chief engineer at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, and as an engineer with Emerson Construction before establishing Denver L. Mills Construction Engineering Company. ....
