True Longhorn Celebrates His 90th Birthday

Mills was the first in his family to attend college and was a member of Tau Beta Pi. He earned his master’s degree from Stanford and worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers for 21 years, retiring in 1986 with the Army’s Meritorious Civilian Service Medal. He then worked as chief engineer at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, and as an engineer with Emerson Construction before establishing Denver L. Mills Construction Engineering Company.
