Lima, 5 jul (EFE).- A Direção Geral de Medicamentos, Insumos e Drogas do Peru (Digemid) anunciou nesta segunda-feira a inclusão de adolescentes de 12 a 19 anos residentes no país na campanha nacional de vacinação contra a covid-19.
De acordo com o órgão, os jovens receberão o imunizante produzido pela farmacêutica americana Pfizer.
A estimativa é de que 4,2 milhões de adolescentes de 12 a 19 anos poderão receber a vacina, enquanto a meta do governo é imunizar o total de 27,2 milhões de pessoas no país.
Hoje, o ministro da Saúde peruano, Óscar Ugarte, destacou que foi comprovada a eficácia e a segurança de algumas vacinas contra a covid-19 em crianças e adolescentes de 12 anos ou mais. ....

From now on, COVID-19 vaccinators will have to show the syringe filled with the vaccine to patients before its administration, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced on Tuesday.
After a possible theft of vaccines reported at health centers in the capital city, the ministry held a press conference to state that from now on vaccinators will have to show the syringe containing the corresponding dose before its administration.
The protocol clearly states that health workers have to show the syringe to the person receiving the vaccine. If the person is accompanied by a relative, the personnel must show it to the companion before proceeding to the inoculation, Minsa s spokesperson, Arturo Granados, explained. ....

LIMA, Peru (AP) Peru s Health Ministry said Tuesday it is investigating nurses who are accused of trying to inoculate patients with empty syringes during the country s coronavirus vaccination campaign.
The ministry said the three known cases were reported in the capital during a campaign that began in March to apply more than 2 million shots.
“These three cases are fully identified, both the people and the places,” said Health Ministry spokesman Arturo Granados. He declined to identify the nurses involved and said the results of an investigation would be released Thursday.
Authorities haven t provided a motive for the allegedly flawed vaccinations, though President Francisco Sagasti said Tuesday that it “is something very worrisome and could even be criminal in some cases.” ....
