Walking Our Faith: Interview with Amy Evans

Walking Our Faith I call this column “Walking Our Faith” because I believe the greatest evidence of our faith is how it shows up in our lives. Whether you are Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu or a good person who believes you don’t need God, your beliefs show up in who you are to the world. You can sit in a pew every Sunday, but if the rest of the week finds you cheating in business and personal relationships, I doubt anyone will see you as a person of faith. Yes, we are all human and fail the golden rule on occasion or daily. But I believe the closer our walk with God, the better we will become. If only because when we know better, we do better.

Port of Olympia's McGregor to say farewell after 15 years on the commission

Port of Olympia s McGregor to say farewell after 15 years on the commission The Olympian 4 days ago Rolf Boone, The Olympian (Olympia, Wash.) May 25 Longtime Port of Olympia District 2 commissioner Bill McGregor on Monday offered some reasons he isn t seeking re-election this year. McGregor, 73, who has served for 15 years on the commission, said before the regular commission meeting that it is time to do something else. That means checking a few things off his bucket list, including visiting family now that the pandemic is in a safer stage, he said. The port has been my passion, McGregor said, adding that he plans to keep track of port matters and may even take advantage of the port s public comment process in the future. McGregor s current term runs through the end of the year.

Cape Cod Theatre Project Announces 27th Season

The Cape Cod Theatre Project’s 27th season, which will begin on July 1, will include the staged reading of the group’s 100th play. The season will once again be presented in an all-virtual format, with a mix of emerging and established playwrights. This year the Cape Cod Theatre Project welcomes new and in-progress works by Bill Cain, Amy Evans, Selina Fillinger and Mike Lew, who explore themes of identity, hidden secrets, far-reaching love, birth and death. Every week from July 1 through 24, a new play will be performed via a livestreamed reading. Post-show talkbacks will follow each 7 PM performance. During the talkback, audience members can share candid feedback with the playwright, director and actors, feedback that can improve and alter the script, sometimes dramatically from night to night, and ultimately change the final outcome of the play. Tickets to individual performances along with an all-access pass, which provides access to every performance all season long,
