Border Patrol agents in Rio Grande Valley (RGV) sector have picked up dozens of migrants at stash houses within the last week shining light on the operations smugglers use to get illegal immigrants into the U.S., and the harsh conditions those migrants face. RGV Sector Chief Patrol Agent Brian Hastings said that four failed smuggling attempts resulted in 91 migrant apprehensions from stash houses throughout the sector over the weekend. Two California congressmen are leading a group of 35 members of the House of Representatives in raising questions about a USDA plan to send some of its workers to the southern border to care for and supervise unaccompanied migrant children.

A former youth facility in Albion began housing more than 100 migrant boys from U.S. Customs and Border Protection on April 12, 2021.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) opened an Emergency Intake Site for Unaccompanied Children at the Starr Commonwealth campus in Albion, Michigan for boys ages 5 to 17 years old.
As of May 4, 2021, about 154 children in care at the Starr Commonwealth intake site, which has a potential capacity of 224 beds, according to a HHS fact sheet.
The Albion facility is one of more than a dozen facilities nationwide HHS contracted with to house more than 22,195 migrant children, mostly from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador, according to HHS. ....
