At last week’s council meeting, councillors considered a revised infrastructure agreement that proposed the council offset 100 per cent of the cost of water infrastructure and decommissioning an onsite sewage treatment plant, and 30 per cent of the cost of providing sewerage infrastructure. I think Proserpine, like a lot of regional centres, displays the importance of innovation, being prepared to be flexible in approaches to day-to-day living. Ms Wright said it was significant many school leavers would now be 18 years old so they could venture to pubs, clubs and do other activities. Whilst the safety program as we know it will dissolve there s still plenty of activities for school leavers to come to the area and participate in, she said. Council will continue to provide some financial support towards the safety messaging program for the next few years. Council are not preventing another agency or organisation from leaving a school leavers program, we are just taking a step back as the lead agency.
