Richmond High School RHS will hold its graduation in the Tiernan Center at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 6, for its approximately 250 graduates. Everyone in attendance must follow health and safety guidelines provided by the Wayne County Health Department, which includes social distancing and wearing masks. Our Tiernan Center floor is (approximately) 1,400 square feet, if we don t pull the bleachers out, Principal Rae Woolpy said. This year s graduating class is one of the smallest ones we ve ever had, so that makes it easier to have inside the Tiernan Center, and then you don t have to keep your fingers crossed about the weather. ....

Tens of thousands of others put their lives and all those around them in danger of the virus and death by selfishly and deliberately ignoring the science and the minimal precautions. We lived through a year in which we witnessed the savagery of murders of our fellow citizens; the reaction of the outraged and the insurrection of our very democracy. Through it all, our neighbors and communities found millions out of work, out of money, out of food and out of hope. Even the children were not spared the loss of school and their friends. She also escaped the grip of cancer after more than 3 years. Debbie was born on September 26, 1950 in Madison to Damain and Lucille Kennedy. She was raised in the historic 4th Ward of Madison, where she would walk to school with her life-long friends to St. Raphael’s Grade School and Central High School (Class of ’68). Debbie was a very proud and loyal Centralite! Shortly after high school graduation she began a career with the UW Madison as a Program Associate at the UW College of Engineering, Department of Professional Development. She remained with the Department until her retirement after 49 years of loyalty and a steadfast focus of continuing excellence. Debbie worked side-by-side with professors and engineers of all mechanical and electrical disciplines forming long and heartfelt friendships with all co-workers.
