Going through 2 00 it lifts further north, so were looking at slightly better air quality, we get into that afternoon sea breeze and those winds continue to push the smoke up into the north bay throughout the afternoon, the overnight hours. And your sunday is going to feature some warmer air and some lighter winds. Still with a spare the air alert both days. People are worried that during the fourth of july holiday, people will let down their guard, stop their social distancing and handwashing that has been so successful so far. Just as many states are seeing the numbers of covid19 cases and hospitalizations continue to climb. We are going in the wrong direction. Reporter dr. Anthony fauci had a dire warning at a Senate Committee hearing on tuesday. We are now having 40,000 new cases per day. I would not be surprised if we go up to 100,000 per day, if this is not turnaround. Reporter nationwide, the spread of the coronavirus has been increasing in at least tens days. In arizona, cases increased nearly 300 in june and hit a new daily record of nearly 5000 on tuesday. Governor doug ducey close down the bars, theaters, and water parks ahead of the holiday weekend. For covid19. Out of the 35 residents, six have passed away. There is a surge of people who tested positive for the virus at the east bay post acute facility. We believe that is in castro valley. 17 staff there and 9 residents tested positive. No one at that facility has died. But back here in hayward, we spoke with a man outside who is concerned about his grandmother. She has lived at this facility for two years. I was able to go up to the window. She was there. Shes good. Shes good. But just a little upset that no one called us from the family. We have to find out from a news alert. And evidently theyre still not talking to anybody.
