Cresswell Hails Recalled Trio Friday, 3rd Feb 2012 11:51 Aaron Cresswell has hailed the contributions of his recently recalled team-mates as Ipswich look to follow a handsome win over Championship leaders West Ham with another victory, this time at the expense of rock-bottom Coventry. Left-back Cresswell, 22, said: “Luke Hyam has probably been our best player in the last few games, with Andy Drury and Tommy Smith not far behind. “They have made the most of their chances to impress and stay in the side. All three have done exceptionally well.” While Cresswell has been virtually ever-present since arriving from Tranmere last summer, the others were out of the first team picture until recently. ....
McCarthy in No Hurry Over Contracts Tuesday, 15th Jan 2013 06:00 Blues boss Mick McCarthy says he’s in no hurry to offer Town’s out of contract players new terms. Lee Martin, Andy Drury, Arran Lee-Barrett, Carlos Edwards, Jason Scotland, Nathan Ellington, Jack Ainsley, Cormac Burke, Ronan Murray and Joe Whight all have deals which are up at the end of June. The Town manager has already confirmed that Scotland is likely to move on during this window - with Wolves, Brighton and Preston all interested - while Ellington, who has just returned from a loan spell at Scunthorpe, and several others seem unlikely to be kept on. ....
Drury Wants to Stay Monday, 31st Dec 2012 12:53 Midfielder Andy Drury says he’d like to stay with the Blues when his contract is up at the end of the season, but is yet to be offered new terms. The 29-year-old told the club site: “Of course I would like to stay because Ipswich is a great club, but I don’t know what is happening on that front to be honest. “Nobody has spoken to me about a new contract and obviously with Mick coming in there has been a lot of change at the club. “I’m just concentrating on my football and we will just wait and see what happens with that as the season progresses. But, like I said, I would love to stay here as I’m really enjoying myself.” ....
Murray on Target for Swindon Saturday, 17th Dec 2011 21:01 Striker Ronan Murray netted the second goal of his loan spell at Swindon as the Robins beat Morecambe 3-0 at the County Ground. The Irishman, who is with Paolo Di Canio s club for a month, netted in the 76th minute having come on as a sub 20 minutes earlier. Elsewhere, Andy Drury s 93-day loan with Crawley ended with a 1-1 draw at Crewe, the Blues midfielder providing the cross for Matt Tubbs’s goal. The 28-year-old went through his entire spell without being on the losing side, making 15 starts and scoring four goals. ....
