A cheeky new campaign has emerged that encourages Aussie travellers to experience South Australia and ‘Go Down South With Your Mouth’.
Designed to inspire travellers to taste the wonders of our southern region, the campaign invites your clients to get in touch with their senses by getting sloshed and “eating out” in South Australia’s food and wine regions.
And, if you haven’t guessed it by now, this campaign was not released by the South Australian Tourism Commission, but a company called Taste Down South, and coincidentally was released just in time for April Fool’s Day.
Complete with a sensual clip that makes us more excited to taste Aussie produce than we should be, the campaign has its own ....

A risque new tourism campaign, purporting to be for South Australia, has generated plenty of attention on social media, but the state s official tourism body has denied any involvement.
The supposed campaign urges Australians to Go down south, with your mouth , a phrase immediately interpreted as a double entendre.

Given it s April Fools Day, one might have expected this sort of joke, but the campaign announcement was made with a press release two days earlier.
For a prank, it s a sophisticated one. The release gives little indication that the campaign is not official, citing tourism research data and written in a straight style, not tongue in cheek (no pun intended). There s even a video with high production values similar to a real tourism campaign.  ....

Last year was bleak. So this April Fool’s Day everyone from government agencies to brands and even Gina Rinehart jumped at the chance to generate some laughs in 2021.
