St. Augustine Record Stabilize mental health funding Earlier this year I spoke to both St. Johns County and St. Augustine City Commissioners regarding funding for the Florida Assertive Community Treatment Team, known as FACT. As a parent of a son disabled with schizophrenia, I outlined the merits of this critically important program. To the credit of both commissions, letters were sent to the governor and legislators requesting continuance of funding. The commissioner s efforts, and the efforts of our legislators, paid off as funding was retained in a very competitive fiscal environment. To our local legislative delegation, I am addressing the non-recurrent funding aspect of this program. ....
