"Fly-in" Event | Olney Enterprise

The Commemorative Air Force has arrived in Young County. On Saturday, April 20, a fly-in event was held at the Graham Airport. The event included World War 2 artifacts from the Robert E. Richeson Commemorative Air Force Cactus Squadron, as well as the only flyable Curtiss SB2C-5 Helldiver which is a 1942 Navy dive bomber. Visitors of the event were able to fly in an N40121 Aircraft, which is a 1990 classic aircraft with a fixed wing single engine that holds two passenger seats. Visitors of the event were also able to drive in a 1944 World War 2 Jeep.
Mike Rhodes, who is a Chief Test Pilot at Air Tractor in Olney, Tx, made this event possible alongside his father. Rhodes is involved in Ag aviation, aircraft manufacturing, and is an aerospace engineer. He is also a part-time flight instructor. Croatian Army preparing for fire season

ZAGREB, 18 April, 2021 (Hina) – The Croatian government this past week adopted a report on the implementation of the 2020 Fire Protection Action Plan, with Defence Minister Mario Banožić thanking members of the Croatian Army (HV) and everyone else who contributed to making the fire season successful.
In 2020, acting on 181 requests by the Croatian Firefighting Association, members of the Croatian Army performed more than 3,400 flights, staying in the air around 511 hours and unloading around 17,000 tonnes of water, the minister said, adding that preparations for this year’s fire season were underway.
Recalling that last year’s fire season was demanding due to the coronavirus pandemic, Banožić said that the Croatian Army provided sufficient personnel and equipment, including six Canadair and six Air Tractor planes and two transport helicopters. ....

Air Tractor sells 4000th airplane

On March 26, Air Tractor sold their 4,000th airplane - an Air Tractor 502XP (a single-seat agricultural aircraft).
“After 49 years of continuous production of airplanes, all of us here are really pleased to celebrate this moment,” said Jim Hirsch, Air Tractor president.
“Only eight years ago we built our 3,000th airplane, now we just surpassed number 4,000. This year we find ourselves in the fortunate position to have historically strong demand for our aircraft. While we are subject to agricultural market ups and downs, our manufacturing continues year after year on a rising trend line.” ....

The past few years have seen an increase in demand for aerial assets globally. Agencies around the world are looking for more resources to deploy water from the sky as fire seasons are ravaging once pristine landscapes. But how do resources and tactics change in different continents?
