EAST GREENWICH â Thereâs still much work to be done, but Superintendent Alexis Meyer feels confident the community can take pride in the strategic planning currently underway. The strategic planning work â which will clearly define a theory of action, mission and vision for the district going forward â began several months ago in December, with assistance and direction from School Committee Vice Chair Lori McEwen. To date, four meetings have already taken place, according to Meyer, with another one on the books for May. The district will still be seeking community input, and what is currently on the table is still very much in draft form, but Meyer said plans are moving in the right direction. ....
WOMEN who want to have care provided by Bradford Maternity Services are being encouraged to fill in a new online self-referral form as soon as they discover they are pregnant. The form aims to immediately put mothers-to-be in direct contact with the maternity team, so their care planning can start as soon as possible. “The new self-referral form means women don’t have to contact their GP to access maternity care anymore. Instead, they can fill in the online form, which is quick, easy and available 24 hours a day” said Tracey Hall, Personalised Midwifery Care Project Lead at the Women’s and Newborn Unit, based at Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI). ....
A TWO-year programme has been launched at the Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI) to upgrade its maternity services to “outstanding” levels. The programme - Outstanding Maternity Services - is set to “transform” the care the hospital provides to women and families, the Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said. Around 5,500 women give birth in the Women’s and Newborn Unit every year and Chief Nurse Karen Dawber said the project “reflects the dedication of our maternity staff to drive forward changes and improvements in providing the best care to local families and mums-to-be”. She said: “The programme of work is vast and aims to transform care pathways and improve the experience of our women and their families. ....

NHS staff administering the coronavirus vaccine in Wales are determined to “keep going on” with their work, despite the country missing out on its vaccination target, a nurse helping manage a health board’s rollout has said. First Minister Mark Drakeford told the Senedd that the Welsh Government has missed its target to vaccinate 70% of over-80s by the end of the weekend, with only 52.8% of that age group having received the jab. On Tuesday, Cwmbran Stadium in Cwmbran, Monmouthshire, was one of 28 mass vaccination centres in Wales in operation, with its morning and afternoon slots split between frontline healthcare workers and people aged 75 and older. ....
