Over 25,000 Covid vaccine jabs delivered in Birkenhead

Birkenhead Medical Building celebrates hitting 25,000 jabs
Bosses at a medical centre in Birkenhead have been singing the praises of their staff after hitting a key milestone in their Covid-19 vaccination mission.
Birkenhead Medical Building has to date completed over 25,000 vaccinations after the programme commenced on December 14.
The main focus of their service has been to target patients registered with the 20 practices who are part of Arno Primary Care Alliance and North Coast Alliance Networks.
Dr John Mottram of Blackheath Medical Centre and joint clinical director of North Coast Alliance said: “ From the outset, we were well aware of the enormity of this task, but never did I doubt our ability to deliver. I feel incredibly privileged to be part of this team. ....

Appointments for second Covid vacccination jab will go ahead

Miriam Medical Centre has completed three rounds of vaccinations over the past two weeks.
A further round of vaccinations for patients commenced on New Year s Day and will carrry on over the weekend.
By close of play tomorrow, 5,000 people will have received their first dose at the medical centre.
The Miriam-led service is for patients registered with Arno Primary Care Alliance and North Coast Primary Care Network.
Staff have vaccinated residents and staff in all care homes under their care and also four care homes in Moreton.
A message on the Miriam Facebook page said: From Monday 4th January, we will commence giving the second booster dose for those who were vaccinated three weeks ago. ....

Medical centre will hit first vaccination target by Thursday

The team at Miriam Medical Centre in Birkenhead is delivering the coronavirus vaccine by appointment only
A Birkenhead medical centre selected to be part of the first GP-led rollout of the coronavirus vaccine is on track to hit its target this week.
Miriam Medical Centre was chosen as a designated site to deliver the first wave of the Covid-19 vaccination on behalf of 20 GP surgeries.
The programme commenced on Monday (December 14) and has so far vaccinated over 600 people at the Laird Street premises, who say they will have reached the target of 975 people by close of play tomorrow.
