폐갱도 관광상품으로 변신…태백 통리탄탄‧ 오로라 파크 개장

광부들이 석탄을 캐고 실어 나르던 폐갱도와 옛 기차역이 새로운 관광자원으로 탈바꿈했다.
강원도 태백시는 5일 오후 통리탄탄파크 내 다목적공원에서 통리탄탄파크 및 오로라파크 개장식을 했다. 이 시설은 지난 2015년부터 폐광지역 관광 자원화 2단계 사업으로 추진한 것이다. 관광객의 관람은 6일부터 가능하다.
통리탄탄파크는 태양의 후예 세트장이 있는 옛 한보탄광 부지에 129억원을 들여 조성한 체험형 관광시설이다. 실제 탄광으로 사용했던 길이 613m와 363m의 폐갱도 2곳을 레이저쇼와 영상 등 조명과 빛 등 디지털 아트 기술을 활용한 공간으로 조성했다. 태백의 과거에 대한 회상과 미래에 대한 희망을 예술로 보여주는 새로운 방식의 관광콘텐츠다.
관광객은 폐갱도를 걸으면서 광부의 하루가 담긴 영상과 석탄을 주제로 한 다양한 ....
