Stage set for counting of votes Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA The police have braced themselves up for counting of votes on May 2 by drafting a scheme to prevent any untoward incident. Over 1,000 police personnel would be mobilised for deployment at the counting centres as well as at important places all over the district. Two counting centres - K. Ramakrishnan College of Engineering at Inam Samayapuram and Imayam College of Engineering at M. Kannanur near Thuraiyur - come under The Tiruchi Rural Police. Over 350 police personnel would be deployed at each of the counting centres with officers in the rank of Additional Superintendent of Police heading them. ....

The telecast of the programme was also broadcast on DD Kashmir. The programme is aimed at seeking feedback from the public and giving them a platform to share their suggestions and views, thus making the process of governance more participatory. The first episode of the Awaam ki Awaaz programme received a huge response from across the UT with people in big numbers tuned to their radio and television sets to witness the paradigm shift in the overall governance process of which “Jan Bhagidari” is the central theme. Updated: Share Article AAA RT-PCR testing would be mandatory for all polling staff, candidates and their agents, said Collector V. Jayachandra Bhanu Reddy at the Collectorate here on Saturday. On the preparedness for the counting on May 2, the Collector told mediapersons the counting centre at the Government Polytechnic College, Kattiganapalli, was being prepared for the counting of votes polled for the six Assembly constituencies. Six halls were being arranged for the counting of postal ballots. Each hall would not have more than four tables. Each candidate would allocate an agent per table. In view of COVID-19 protocols, two halls were being set up for counting of EVMs for each of the three constituencies; and three halls for three Assembly constituencies. ....
Apr 23, 2021 Principal Secretary said that under a joint venture between administration of Jammu and Kashmir and Tata Technologies (PPP mode) an investment of Rs. 361 crore has been made in JKUT to train the students in robotics, electric vehicle manufacture, industry professionals and promoting entrepreneurship. It was informed in the meeting that Centres for Invention, Innovation, Incubation, and Training (CIIIT) have been established at Government Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk, at a cost of Rs 181.56 crore and at Government Polytechnic College, Baramulla at the cost of Rs 181.57 crore. The measures are coming at a time when the dynamics of industry requirements are changing rapidly due to continuous advancements being made in today’s global technological era’, he added. ....
