ASUN passes 12 pieces of legislation in longest meeting of the year


In a meeting that lasted around 3 and half hours, the 2020-21 Association of Students of the University of Nebraska senate passed 12 pieces of legislation in the current administration’s final full meeting of the year. 
Jake Johnson, associate to the chancellor for Institutional Equity and Compliance, spoke about the recent sexual misconduct training and answered questions brought up by senators. Johnson said he and his staff welcome the feedback. 
“This particular training offered the opportunity for people to be engaged throughout the delivery of the program,” Johnson said. 
The majority of the concerns and questions raised were regarding the process for choosing the program and the insensitivity of the program. ....

ASUN to vote on bills supporting Sustain UNL events, discimination database


The Association of Students of the University of Nebraska will convene Wednesday for the final meeting of the 2020-21 ASUN administration and vote on 14 pieces of legislation. 
Jake Johnson, associate to the chancellor for Institutional Equity and Compliance, will speak to the senate regarding the concerns that have been raised regarding the sexual misconduct training. 
Government Bill 32, if passed, would officially state ASUN’s support for the implementation of a public database that would include every incident of racial bias, racism or discrimination reported to the university. This bill was supposed to be voted on last week, but was postponed for revisions. ....

CFA presents 2022 fiscal year allocation recommendations, hears from public


The Committee for Fee Allocations presented allocation recommendations for the 2022 fiscal year to the community of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln at a town hall on Thursday night.
CFA chair Jacob Gideon hosted the meeting, which was via Zoom on Thursday, March 11. CFA administers the recommendations for the allocation of University Program and Facilities Fees, also known as student fees. These recommendations are made to the Association of Students of the University of Nebraska. 
There are two groups of fund users, Fund A and Fund B. Fund A users include the Lied Center for Performing Arts, The Daily Nebraskan, The DailyER, University Program Council and ASUN. Fund B includes the Nebraska Unions, Campus Recreation, the ASUN Student Readership Program, Parking & Transit Services and the University Health Center.  ....
