Telangana Universities To Get New Vice-Chancellors After Governor s Nod May 22, 2021, 15:17 IST Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao is now focussing on the appointment of Vice-Chancellors to the state universities after the establishment of the TS Public Service Commission (TSPSC). According to sources, KCR has cleared names of VCs for 10 universities and referred them to Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan for approval. Following the acceptance of the Governor, the state government will issue orders appointing VCs for Osmania, Kakatiya, Telangana, Satavahana, Palamuru, Mahatma Gandhi, JNTU-Hyderabad, Telugu University, Ambedkar Open University and JNAFAU-Hyderabad. As there are no VCs in the varsities, administrative and academic activities of the institutions have been badly affected.

Well-known illustrator Chandra succumbs to COVID-19

Updated: Share Article AAA Well-known illustrator, artist, cartoonist and writer Myadam Chandrashekhar, 74, popularly known as Chandra, succumbed to the COVID-19 in the wee hours of Thursday. Known for social, political and satirical cartoons, Chandra was also an illustrator who made sketches of several famous personalities at national and international level including from the Telugu land. He also made illustrations related to natural, folk, spiritual, mythological, modern and revolutionary ideologies besides writing several short stories. Chandra was undergoing treatment for nerves-related illness at Mother Teresa Rehabilitation Centre at Karkhana in Secunderabad. He was infected with COVID-19 at the centre and breathed his last on Thursday. He is survived by wife, two sons and a daughter and all the three children are settled overseas.
