The late Ms Cary was the driving force behind CJ’s Yarn Place, which has brought new life to the small shopping complex bordered by Penola Road and Wireless Road East. Sadly, one month before opening day Cindy was struck down by illness and subsequently lost her health battle. The store is being collectively managed by Cindy’s daughter Amanda Cary, and granddaughter Holly Cary, both of whom are dedicated to seeing Cindy’s dream successfully become reality. ....

Abuse charges dropped after medical evidence clears Tampa foster mom article TAMPA, Fla. - The Tampa mother accused of abusing a 6-week-old foster child in her care has been cleared of any wrongdoing. Amanda Gary was arrested over three years ago and charged with aggravated child abuse after investigators said one of the baby s legs had been broken. She said it all began one night when, in the middle of changing the child s diaper, she heard something strange. I lifted her leg, I heard a noise, and I knew something was wrong, Gary recalled. She rushed the baby to the hospital where, after determining the baby had a broken leg, doctors immediately suspected child abuse. Soon, Gary was facing criminal charges. ....

If it wasn’t for those women I wouldn’t be where I am today.” So said Amanda Carey on a recent winter day about her time at Esther Residence and the nuns there who helped her turn her life around. Carey, 36, of Belmont, New Hampshire, is a former resident of Esther Residence, a transitional home for women leaving jail, prison or a treatment program. For nearly one year, Carey lived at the Saco home which is a mission of the local Catholic Good Shepherd Parish and staffed by retired nuns of the Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary-Good Shepherd Sisters of Quebec. ....
