Stark Board of Elections wants decision soon on Dominion voting machines


CANTON  Members of the Stark County Board of Elections want to know when county commissioners will decide whether to approve the proposed $6.5 million purchase of Dominion voting machines.
And the agency s chairman said the board will take legal action if commissioners keep putting off a decision.
After a 38-minute executive session Tuesday to discuss the purchase of property for public purposes, Board Chairman Samuel Ferruccio instructed the board staff to ask commissioners for a firm (decision) date on the voting machines. Then he said the board, which unanimously approved the purchase Dec. 9, would consider its legal options going forward.
When asked later if the subject of the executive session was the voting machines, Ferruccio said, You can read between the lines, but it s an executive session.” ....

‘News from Around the Driftless Area’ is a compilation showcasing the excellent work and interesting tidbits from the community journalists sprinkled throughout our area.
VIROQUA –The Friends of Vernon County Parks and Forests will be hosting ‘Snowcially distanced’ guided winter walks exploring various Vernon County parks on Saturday afternoons in January and February of 2021. The winter walks and bonfire series are for family and friends of all ages. Walkers are to meet in the park parking lots. All walks will have a volunteer guide and will be approximately 45 minutes to one hour long, with a bonfire to immediately follow. Most walks will begin at 3 p.m., except the January 30 ‘Sidie Stomp,’ which is a collaboration with our friends at Vernon Trails, and will begin at 5 p.m. The Friends of Vernon County Parks encourages walkers to always dress appropriately for the walk and the weather, invite ....
