Tactical Retreat Preceded Fall of Nerkh District: Officials
Following reports about the fall of Nerkh district of Maidan Wardak province to the Taliban, Afghan security officials said that the security forces made a tactical retreat from the district.
Maidan Wardak s governor said that the security forces retreated from the district as part of a conspiracy, without further elaborating. He said the district is currently under Taliban control.
However, the Afghan Ministry of Defense (MoD) has rejected any kind of conspiracy and said that reinforcements have been sent to recapture the district from the Taliban.
“Regrettably, the Taliban took over the district last night because of a conspiracy, the security forces then made a tactical retreat, the district building has sustained damages,” said Abdul Rahman Tariq, the governor of Maidan Wardak. ....

Security Forces Retreat from Govt Buildings in Behsud: MP
A member of the Afghan parliament on Wednesday said that government forces have retreated from the government buildings in Hes-e-Awal Behsud district following recent deadly clashes between security forces and armed men loyal to Abdul Ghani, known as Commander Alipoor, a local commander in Behsud district in Maidan Wardak province.
Abdul Rahman Wardak, a member of parliament from Maidan Wardak, said that the security forces retreated from a building in the district after an hour-long clash with Alipoor’s supporters.
“The government forces are no longer present in the area, the police commander is now in Hes-e-Awal Behsud,” said Abdul Rahman Wardak, a member of parliament. ....

The Afghanistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday said that the Constitution of Afghanistan, Afghanistan’s national interests and Afghanistan’s foreign policy forbid Afghan citizens from getting involved in wars in other countries and the region.
