Shehroze Kashif, 19, became the youngest Pakistani mountaineer to reach the summit of Mount Everest 8,848.86 metres on Tuesday.
In an update on Facebook, Nepalese mountaineer and the expedition manager of Seven Summit Treks, Chhang Dawa Sherpa, congratulated Kashif for becoming the youngest Pakistani to climb Mount Everest. “This morning Kashif successfully climbed the Mt. Everest as a part of Seven Summit Treks Everest Expedition 2021,” he wrote.
An update on Kashif’s Facebook page said, “ALHAMDULILLAH ALHAMDULILLAH. Received the text confirmation from Shehroze Kashif. History has been made !!!!!!!!! Ma Sha Allah Shehroze has summited Everest.”
Hailing from Lahore, Kashif is also the youngest Pakistani to have climbed Broad Peak (8,047m) at the age of 17. He used supplemental oxygen on his climbs to Broad Peak and Everest. ....

Shehroze Kashif Completes Record-Breaking Summit of Mount Everest
19-year-old climber, Shehroze Kashif, has become the youngest Pakistani mountaineer to summit the world’s tallest peak, Mount Everest.
On Monday night, Kashif began his journey to summit the 8848.86-meter mountain peak. He shared his tracker throughout with his friends and followers so that they can stay updated with his progress as he hoisted Pakistan’s flag on top of the world’s tallest mountain.

Pakistani climber Shehroze Kashif has become the youngest Pakistani to summit Mount Everest, his team confirmed Tuesday morning.
The 19-year-old left Camp 4 on Monday night to begin his summit of the world’s tallest peak. He even shared his tracker (https://share.garmin.com/pakistanoneverest) with his friends and followers.
According to his team, he asked his tracking link to be shared with his friends so they complete the summit with him. ....

Eight members of a family, including three children, were killed on Thursday when their car collided with a truck in Punjab province.
Rescue sources said members of the in-laws of former chairman district council Mian Zahid Daultana were on their way from Luddan to Lahore.
Rescue officials said a car heading to Lahore from Burewala collided head-on with a truck due to speeding on Luddan Road Burewala, some 140 kilometres from Lahore. The car driver lost control over the vehicle because of speeding and rammed the vehicle into a truck coming from the opposite direction. ....

Funding, training urged for promotion of mountaineering

Islamabad : Speaking at a webinar on ‘mountaineering challenges confronting Pakistan,’ the experts urged the government to urgently establish a professional mountaineering school and a strong Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP) having right professionals on board.
The experts also appreciated the Pakistan army for conducting the rescue operations quite efficiently when needed. They highlighted that getting a mountaineering permit takes too long despite the Prime Minister’s instruction to reduce the processing time. It takes too much time to get a visa for the foreign tourists though the federal government has announced a lenient visa policy. ....
