ATHOL Town Manager Shaun Suhoski has activated Athol’s virtual emergency operations center. As a result, an incident command center system has been activated under the direction of the Fire Chief Joseph Guarnera, who serves as Athol’s Emergency Management Director. Suhoski said the move was made last Thursday morning at a meeting of the Vaccinate Athol (VAX) Task Force.
“This allowed us to move to an Incident Command System style of management to respond to this challenge,” said Suhoski. “On Thursday, (Chief Guarnera) assumed incident control with a structured command staff to handle planning, logistics, operations, financial, safety and public outreach efforts in support of our health department. ....
