Wednesday, May 5
3:30 a.m. Officer Foster responded to Grant Street to investigate a disturbance.
6:39 a.m. Det. Cyr responded to B Road for a well-being check.
7:35 a.m. Det. Cyr responded to Military Street to investigate suspicious activity.

HOULTON, Maine The Houlton Police Department responded to the following incidents thought the month of April.
Thursday, April 15
1:14 a.m. Officer Varnum responded to Spring Street to investigate a disturbance.
2:18 a.m. Cpl. Clayton responded to Military Street to summon Evan Gonya, 38, of Oakfield man for violation of protective order.

HAMPTON ROADS, Va. â Local police departments are hiring. Virginia Beach has more than 90 vacancies and Chesapeake reports more than 30.
âA lot more shortages than weâve had in the past,â said Officer Dupree Foster, a recruiter with the Chesapeake Police Department. âYou have a lot going on: the national climate with law enforcement.â
Officer Foster said ten new recruits just started last week, and despite the COVID pandemic and recent unrest, the recruits they are getting are motivated.
âOne of the benefits of what is going on is weâre getting a lot of people who are the ones who actually want to do this job. Theyâve wanted to do it for a long time, so itâs something theyâre really stepping up in and following through with at this point,â Foster explained.

Today, we re going to lease to body worn camera videos of an incident which took place on February 17th, 2021 at 7 40 PM Location is 400 Gilmour Street on that date and time to police officers Courtney Right and Dante Foster, or in, um, our patrol vehicle when they observed a group of males at the intersection of Coal Street and Gilmour Street. As the officers approached that area, one of the males walked away and attempted to enter residence. He was not able to obtain entry and instead fled on foot into a rear alley, and that was observed a few moments later on Ramsey Street. At this point, Officer Foster exited patrol vehicle. The male fled on foot, and the officers followed him back onto Gilmore with a male brandished a firearm. At this point, Officer Foster was on foot. An off
