Bay View reporters Hanson Lee and Joan Stratis travelled to Minneapolis to stand in solidarity with people in the street who gathered from all over to stand strong during Officer Derek Chauvinâs trial and subsequent conviction for the cold-blooded, slow torture and murder of Big George Floyd in 2020 â an intensely traumatic trial for all of us as we watched or were unable to watch. Hanson and Joan were en route to supporting the Standing Rock Sioux tribe in the Dakotas, who have been continuing to confront the illegal activity by the US Army Corps of Engineers as they continue to run crude oil via the Dakota Access Pipeline through Indigenous land and water supply. Both of these events are part of the same industry of death perpetuated by the USâ imperialist, inhuman, white supremacist system. â Photo: Joan Stratis
