SAN DIEGO A man reportedly threatened a neighbor, claimed apparently falsely that he had harmed his own family members, then holed up inside an Emerald Hills home Wednesday afternoon before he was taken into custody, San Diego police said. The incident started around 2 p.m. when a 911 caller on Elwood Avenue told police her neighbor knocked on her door with bloody hands wanting to fight her husband and threatening him with a knife, San Diego police Officer Tony Martinez said. The neighbor also told the woman to call the police, claiming he had killed his family, Martinez said. Officers responded to the area off Hilltop Drive just east of Euclid Avenue and just south of state Route 94 and surrounded the home, where the man had retreated and holed up after threatening his neighbor, Martinez said. ....
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Police were investigating a shooting at a Pacific Beach park Wednesday morning that possibly left one person wounded. Dispatchers received a report of a shooting about 2:40 a.m. at Kate Sessions Park on Soledad Road, west of Interstate 5, San Diego police Officer Tony Martinez said. Officers responded to the park and found a large group of people, broken bottles and several spent shell casings, Martinez said. Officers detained at least three people and recovered two firearms. While searching the group’s vehicles, officers found blood inside a van, he said. Police did not find a victim at the scene and it was not immediately clear if someone had been shot in the van. ....
