After signing Nakye Greenidge-Duncan, Dante Campbell, Steffen Yeates and Garrett McLaughlin in April, the club is bolstering its roster with two new defenders who will join the team pending league and federation approval. ....
Merrill Foto News Stadler is named Athlete of the Week Cameron Stadler Cameron Stadler, Merrill High School (MHS) Senior, has been named Athlete of the Week for the week of April 15, 2021. Cameron is on the Merrill Bluejays Varsity Trap Team and has been on the Team since his Sophomore year in 2019 when he made 1st Team All Conference with a 23.33 average. (25.0 is a perfect score.) The Team didn’t get to shoot in 2020 due to COVID, but the Trap Team did start shooting at the end of March for the 2021 season. He has been shooting trap for five years, since the 8th grade. ....
Athlete of the Week Our KSEN/K96 Bozeman Trophy Athlete’s of the Week had successful performances on the track and for the first time this season, in the rodeo arena. High School Rodeo, despite less than ideal conditions, got a full weekend of competition completed in Conrad Saturday and Sunday. The rodeo brought in competitors from all over the state and among the most successful among girls from the local area was Sr. Taylissa Lytle of Cut Bank. Taylissa competes in 3 events and placed in the top ten in all three on Saturday and two of the three on Sunday. Rodeo participants pick up 10-points for a 1st place finish and 9 for 2nd and on down the line. That gave her 21 points for the week and boosts her place in the All-Around race to 36th. That may not seem like a big thing but there are more than 100 female competitors vying for the title. Lytle’s best finish a 4th in the Breakaway roping, a 6th in the Barrel Racing and a 6th in the pole Bending. ....
