The Fort Myers, Sarasota, and Tampa areas are included Tropical Storm Watch. In addition, a Storm Surge Watch has been issued from Bonita Beach northward to the Suwannee River, including Tampa Bay. Credit National Hurricane Center / Tropical Storm Warnings continue for the Florida Keys from Craig Key westward, and Watches continue for the remainder of the Keys to the east of Craig Key. Water levels may rise to between 1 and 3 feet above normally dry ground in places from the middle and lower Keys and northward to Bonita Beach. Water levels may increase to 2 to 4 feet above dry ground on Tuesday from Bonita Beach northward to the mouth of the Suwannee River, including Tampa Bay. ....

The tropical storm watch extends from the tip of the Florida peninsula to the Anclote River, on the border of Pinellas and Pasco counties. The storm surge watch extends farther north, to the Suwanee River. A storm surge watch means there is a possibility of life- threatening inundation, from rising water moving inland from the coastline during the next 48 hours. Tropical storm watches extend to Tampa Bay CNN Weather By Jason Hanna, Alanne Orjoux, Haley Brink, and Alaa Elassar, CNN Tropical Storm Elsa is a little weaker and slower Sunday as it swirls away from Haiti toward Jamaica and Cuba, according to the National Hurricane Center, but a tropical storm warning is in effect for the Florida Keys. The hurricane center said Elsa was moving west-northwest at 14 mph with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph. Elsa’s tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 115 miles from its center. Late Saturday, the storm battered parts of the Dominican Republic and Haiti with heavy rain and high winds as its center passed to the south. ....
