Progressive Democrats have made a desperate call asking the Biden administration to overturn a Senate rule keeping a minimum-wage raise out of the upcoming Covid-19 relief bill. But Biden is unlikely to listen.
Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough ruled last week that a Democrat-proposed provision hiking the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour could not be tacked on to the Biden administration’s $1.9 trillion stimulus bill.
