China launched the second Type 054A/P frigate for Pakistan on Friday in Shanghai, as the Pakistan Navy Chief Naval Overseer highlighted at the launch ceremony that induction of the Type 054A/P warships will significantly enhance Pakistan s maritime defense and deterrence capabilities.
The launch of the second Type 054A/P frigate was held at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai on Friday, reads a statement the Pakistan Navy sent to the Global Times on the same day. ....

Ankara [Turkey], January 23 (ANI/Sputnik): Turkey launched its first domestically built frigateIstanbul (F-515) on Saturday and PresidentRecep Tayyip Erdogan took part in the launch ceremony.
We have become a country that meets needs of friendly and allied countries as well as itself in terms of land and sea vehicles. We are among the 10 countries that can design, build and maintain their own warships. We are among the top three or four countries in the production of drones, including combat ones. U.S. admirals made the case for the new ship during a virtual conference this week.
The U.S. Navy is eyeing a new class of warship to replace its current Arleigh Burke destroyers ships that can fight by themselves using lasers and hypersonic missiles.
This DDG-X is needed, a chorus of admirals argue, to stay a step ahead of Chinese and Russian missile advances.
“As our adversaries push farther and farther from their shores, we need a ship that can generate enough power to drive more sophisticated radars, electronic warfare systems and directed energy weapons a ship that will be able to competently operate inside adversary weapon engagement zones,” Rear Adm. Paul Schlise, who leads the Navy staff’s Surface Warfare Division, said Tuesday. ....
