Nigeria 'll conquer all odds, become stronger in Africa – Masari

Katsina, April 26, 2021 Gov. Aminu Masari of Katsina State says with determination and perseverance, Nigeria will conquer all odds and become more stronger in Africa.
Masari made the remarks on Monday in Katsina, when he received a delegation from the House of Representatives on sympathy visit to the state over the fire incident at Katsina Central Market and House of Assembly.

UNICEF condemns kidnapping of schoolgirls in Zamfara State

Katsina, Feb. 26, 2021 The United Nation Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has expressed concern over the attack on Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, Talata-Mafara Local Government of Zamfara State, where a number of girls were kidnapped.
This is contained in a statement issued by the UNICEF representative in Nigeria, Mr Peter Hawkins, through the UNICEF Communications Specialist, Mr Sam Kaalu, and made available to newsmen on Friday in Katsina.
“We are angered and saddened by yet another brutal attack on schoolchildren in Nigeria.
“This is a gross violation of children’s rights and a horrific experience for children to go through, which will have long lasting effects on their mental health and well-being. ....

Kano-Maradi rail line: Katsina, Kano, Jigawa Governors commend President Buhari

Katsina, Feb. 9, 2021 The Governors of Katsina, Kano and Jigawa States have commended President Muhammadu Buhari for initiating the Kano-Maradi rail project.
The governors gave the commendation on Tuesday in Katsina at the Ground Breaking Ceremony of the railway project.
Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, noted that the project was among several others provided by the Federal Government for the benefit of his people.
“Mr President, the government and people of Kano state will like to inform you that we are the greatest beneficiaries of your administration.
“We appreciate you for improving the infrastructure in the country, and particularly for Kano state, making it a mega city, commercial centre of the Northern part of the country and of some West African countries. ....

Katsina Govt to secure N55bn IDB bond- Commissioner

Katsina, Dec. 23, 2020 The Katsina State Government said on Wednesday that it would secure N55 billion bond from Islamic Development Bank for infrastructure developments in the state.
The Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Kasim Mutallab, made this known while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting.
“Katsina state is looking to undertake a seven year bond, the bond will follow Islamic principles; there must be special purpose for securing the bond.
“We are looking at this bond because of the infrastructure deficits in the state in terms of roads, hospitals and education,” he said.
He noted that the funds would be repayable for over seven years. ....
