All Nagaland Private Schools' Association holds 39th annual general body meeting

Dimapur, Nov. 4 (EMN): The 39th annual general body meeting (AGBM) of the All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA) was held on the theme ‘Transformation through Education’ on October 21 at NBCC Platinum Hall, Kohima. The association in an update informed that meeting was attended by secretary, department of School Education, Limawabang Jamir, and deputy director, School Education, B Nellayappan, as the special guest and resource person, respectively. The first session (business session) was moderated by Bithungo Kikon, ex-officio advisor, ANPSA Central, while president of ANPSA Mokokchung unit, Anungla Aier, pronounced invocation prayer. The secretary’s report was read out by general secretary, ANPSA Central, PJ Nathan, who also informed the house of the passing away of some proprietors and teachers of private schools in the last one year. Need to relook education with changing times — Asano Sekhose

Our CorrespondentKohima, Aug. 13 (EMN): Chairman of Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), Asano Sekhose on Saturday said with changing times and knowledge easily available in all platforms, there is a need to relook education instead of detecting things for students to learn. She was addressing the All Nagaland Private Schools Association (ANPSA) Kohima Unit inter-school quiz and extempore competition held at St Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School (SMCHSS), Lerie Kohima as special guest. Sekhose emphasised that platform and room should be given to the students to experience their skills and discovery based on teaching methods. She pointed out that the quest for learning will always remain, adding that education is no more about content knowledge but about understanding with creativity and problem-solving, and development of communication skills.
