Dimapur, Oct. 27 (EMN): Governor of Nagaland, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, on Thursday, shared that it is the responsibility of schools, both government and private, to provide holistic education to students so that they can efficiently discharge their duties to the community and nation. He added that more than degrees, it is knowledge that gives a person ‘immense intellectual satisfaction’. The governor was speaking at a programme held at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Lerie in Kohima. Mukhi also highlighted the significant aspects of the National Education Policy 2020, which he said is a ‘progressive and future-oriented initiative’ that addresses critical issues such as equitable access to higher education, bridging the gap between current and desirable learning outcomes with more impetus on cognitive skills, social and emotional skills. She was addressing the All Nagaland Private Schools Association (ANPSA) Kohima Unit inter-school quiz and extempore competition held at St Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School (SMCHSS), Lerie Kohima as special guest.
