The Voice to Parliament is Australia’s “big chance” to give “First Nations people” a say in the issues affecting their communities, Treasurer Jim Chalmers says.
“This is Australia’s big chance to move forward together in a spirit of unity and respect,” Mr Chalmers told Sky News Australia.
“This should be a unifying moment; it should be something which is decided by the people not the politicians.

Assistant Trade and Manufacturing Minister Tim Ayres says the government will take the necessary time to ensure the Free Trade Agreement with the European Union is a “high-quality agreement” which delivers for Australia.
“It is always vitally important that we make it really clear to our friends in the European Union that we want to see an agreement with the EU, it is a very important market for Australia, but it is never an agreement at any costs,” he told Sky News Australia.
