More than 36,000 workers are promising to strike after months of working without a contract. Two unions, Communications Workers of america and the International Brotherhood of electrical workers represent verizon land line and cable workers from mass pass to virginia. The unions say that verizon wants to freeze pensions, make layoffs easier and rely more on contract workers.
