NSBCC Agenda – Shark Statues, Special Events, & The 4th Of July

New Smyrna Beach, FL – The first presentation at today’s New Smyrna Beach City Commission (NSBCC) meeting has been long in coming. The members of the Youth Council Task Force first presented their idea to the City Commission on May 14, 2019.  The students were not able to move forward last year due to the pandemic and meeting restrictions. This year, they accepted submittals from local artists to volunteer to paint a shark statue. The idea is to place them around the city of New Smyrna Beach. Other items on the agenda include: With pandemic restrictions easing, the NSBCC is expected to give approval to four special events including fireworks display on July 4 and, along Flagler Avenue, the 32nd Annual Seaside Fiesta on June 17, NSB Shrimp & Seafood Festival on Aug. 5, and Light Up Flagler on Dec. 3. Buddy Davenport, of New Smyrna Beach will be recognized for his appointment to the Florida Inland Navigation District Board of Commissioner ....
