isn t over yet. good afternoon, i m brian hackney in for frank mallicoat. i m maria medina. gunshots in a san leandro neighborhood this morning. a homeowner is in the hospital and a pair of armed intruders is on the run. but as kiet do shows us, one of the suspects may be wounded. reporter: the white pieces of paper mark the spots where police found significant amounts of blood. it s one of the biggest clues that the homeowner has pretty good aim. there is some indication that a suspect may have been shot. reporter: it began around 12:45 a.m. when the elderly man whom neighbors say is a retired contractor was home with his wife. police say at least two men broke into the house on the 2100 block of lakeview drive attempting to pull off a home invasion robbery. but the homeowner apparently pulled out a shotgun and fired three rounds. during the shootout, the homeowner was hit, went to the hospital with critical but nonlife-threatening injuries. the suspects took o ....
