Sean Fitzpatrick s passion for building sand sculptures started when his daughter was 3 and she asked her dad to build her a snowman.
That was more than two decades ago, and Fitzpatrick had never sculpted anything before, but he knew he could draw. He went outside and his daughter said she wanted the snowman to look like Santa Claus. Fitzpatrick created a snowman that did indeed look like Santa Claus and was 6 feet tall. I was fascinated that I was able to do this, Fitzpatrick said. Was it perfect? No. Certainly not by any stretch of the imagination. I ve come a long way in all that time. But it fueled a fire inside me that could not be extinguished.
