The amendment was approved by the Planning Commission last week.
William Aikens, vice president of operations for the site developer H&W Construction, has said his company has added a second national builder for the project. The increase in permits would allow them to coordinate a fair plan for both developers to complete it by the end of 2021, he said.
The increase in permits would allow the developer to complete the project about six to nine months sooner than expected, said Lee Pambid, planning and zoning administrator, during Mondayâs meeting. Staff recommended the approval saying it is in line with the comprehensive plan and similar documents.

The Strasburg Town Council on Tuesday night approved in a 7-1 vote a budget amendment allocating about $400,000 in new revenue and new revenue projections, among other actions.
The allocation consists of spending about $130,000 in budget funds that were freed up by the federal Coronavirus Aid, Recovery and Economic Stability (CARES) Act funds for police salaries.
The remaining portion comes from allocating about $270,000 in increased projections on meals and sales tax returns that were cut at the start of the pandemic to more conservative estimates.
The money will be spent on keeping the Borden Mowery Drive realigning project on schedule, making payments toward the purchase of two police cruisers that were previously put off and replacing water turbidity meters that have become obsolete.
