Galvez eyeing inoculation of all Pinoys, including minors, to fully eliminate COVID in PH

National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 chief implementer, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. acknowledged on Thursday night, May 13 that the entire population of the Philippines would have to be vaccinated if it wants to totally eliminate the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

“Ang sinasabi po ng Israel yung kanilang mga expert po doon, na hindi talaga natin fully mai-eliminate ang disease kung may sizable amount of population na hindi pa po nababakunahan (What the experts in Israel are saying is, we cannot fully eliminate the disease if there is a sizable amount of the population that isn’t vaccinated),” Galvez said in his presentation during President Duterte’s virtual public briefing. ....

PH receives additional vaccines through Covax facility

This in view of the arrival in the country on Monday, May 10, of the first 193,050 doses of donated Pfizer vaccines from the World Health Organization-led Covax facility.
The national government led by the vaccine cluster with representatives from the United Nations, World Health Organization (WHO), the UNICEF, US Embassy, and Pfizer Philippines received the vaccine doses at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City.
In a statement, Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III said the additional Pfizer vaccines will be used on priority groups A1 to A3, who will be receiving the first dose of the said vaccines. ....
