Their second straight home game at Newell Sargent Park from Don Harkins Field. Rock Springs had 12 runs off 12 hits scoring 6 runs in the top of the 6th inning. Lady Tiger Freshman Pitcher Payton Soltis struck out 14 Lady Warriors. Worland Senior Catcher Carmyn Buckman went 2 for 2 with a triple and a run scored for the Lady Warriors. Senior Pitcher Brooklynn Hellyer struck out 7 Rock Springs batters. The Lady Tigers would get a 12-1 win over Worland and send the Lady Warriors to 0-2 for the season. ....
The Lady Warrior Girl's Soccer team went into Saturday's Match-up with the Mountain View Lady Buffalos on a two game win streak and scoring 11 goals over those two wins. According to the National Weather Service, locales all over Wyoming could break their previous high-temperature records. The National Weather Service in Riverton is following the weekend weather and predicts things are going to get hot. As warm weather moves into Wyoming, nearly every part of the state will likely be feeling the heat. Temperatures on April 3 and 4 could be the highest of the last two decades in some parts of Wyoming. After a season of unknowns, teams having to postpone, reschedule, and outright cancel games. A season that required mask on fans and unfilled gyms. The Warriors got to prove to the State of Wyoming they were the best. A chance to “Leave No doubt.” The opening round of the Wyoming 3A Boys State Basketball Championships were held in Casper Wyoming March 10th and 11th. The Warriors came into the Championships as the number one seed from the West Region. They would face the East Regions number 4 seed Wheatland Bulldogs. ....
Written by Chance Bond on March 8, 2021 The Lady Warriors insure a spot in the Wyoming 3A Girls Basketball State Championship Tournament. Worland started post season with a 13-4 record having won six in a row that included a 36-34 win over a Wyoming top ranked team in the Lander Valley Lady Tigers. Worland would first take on a Lovell team that the Lady Warriors had already defeated twice in the regular season. 62-25 and 52-23. Ask any coach they will all say beating a team three times in a season is a very tall order. The opening round of the Wyoming 3A Quad Championships was a elimination game. No matter your regular season record. Failure or success. No game mattered more. ....
