The This year the Grandpa Gang has increased donations to area community organizations following record attendance during the 2020 holiday event, with nearly $65,000 was distributed to 53 organizations.

Despite COVID-19 precautions limiting some displays last year, a record number of visitors attended Christmas Wonderland during the 2020 holiday season meaning the volunteer Grandpa Gang is able to increase its donations to local organizations.
Roberts seeks Wood River post

WOOD RIVER Mary Roberts has launched her campaign for the Wood River City Council.
Roberts was a Wood River Police Cadet for a short time before working at Amoco, Shell and ConocoPhillips where she was an Operator/Offsites Supervisor before her retirement. At Shell, she was on the Shell Recreation Association board and was was responsible for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. She also started and coordinated the Adopt-the-Highway with the Refinery and Hartford.
She served on the Emergency Response Team at the refinery in several roles, including Incident Commander and a member on the Fire Crew, Rescue, Hazmat, Medical and CISM Teams..
