It gives me further hope and optimism well succeed in passing the for the people act, but we need to go further. With republicans including Mitch Mcconnell Signaling they wont support any bill that puts elections in the hands of the federal government, it could be a long road ahead. Then theres infrastructure, with a group of bipartisan senators still working out the kinks, progressives are beginning to weigh in on what they like and dont like about the bill. One of the concerns that i do have about the bipartisan bill is how they are going to pay for their proposals. And theyre not clear yet. I dont know that they even know yet, but some of the speculation is raising a Gas Tax, which i dont support. A fee on electric vehicles, privatization of infrastructure. The revised version produced by one of the democrats yesterday endorsed by Stacy Abrams and extraordinary dubious constitutionality would remove legislating from State Legislatures and totally inappropriate and all republicans, i think, will oppose that, as well. I actually think when Stacy Abrams immediately endorsed senator Mcconnells Proposal it became the Stacy Abrams substitute and not Joe Manchin substitute. Infrastructure is the other big item on the hill. At least 21 senators say they back a bipartisan proposal. A fiveyear Spending Plan with about a 1 Trillion price tag. It would do far more than just fix roads and bridges.
