From the age of 16, living in Shaftsbury and doing a rescue squad ride-along, Katie Vandale has been committed to a career as part of what was then probably viewed as a “good ‘ole boys club” – emergency medical services and rescue squad.
Manchester police have invited police and sheriff departments from Bennington, Wilmington, Winhall, Shaftsbury and Rutland to join them from Dec. 14 through Jan. 2 in holding one sobriety checkpoint and saturation patrols looking for drivers putting themselves and others at risk.
