Bobby Lutz, Special Assistant to the Head Coach for the past two seasons, left the Husker program last month to pursue his own coaching opportunities. Lutz helped with game planning, non-conference scheduling and assisting Hoiberg and the Husker staff in the day-to-day operation while in Lincoln. He previously served as a collegiate head coach or assistant coach since 1985, and oversaw postseason play as a head coach in 14 of his 21 seasons at the helm. Lutz cited the desire to return to a coaching role as his reason for leaving.

In Chicago, he did a remarkable job with our G League team in its first season, as we had more than a dozen players recalled or sign with other NBA teams. He has earned the respect of players around the league because of his ability to relate with players, and to help them reach their goals.”
