BPL: Lubbers Cay electricity restored; mainland Abaco power "stabilizing" – Eye Witness News


ABACO, BAHAMAS Bahamas Power and Light (BPL) said today that power has been restored to the entirety of Lubbers Cay, with “about half the residents having already received supply”.
The power company added that all of mainland Abaco is currently being powered from the Coopers Town Power Station and Wilson City Power Station.
A BPL statement read: “Bahamas Power and Light Company Ltd (BPL) is pleased to report that Lubbers Cay is now on, with about half the residents having already received supply.
“On the mainland, the Wilson City Power Station (WCPS) is now feeding Guana Cay via Matt Lowe’s and Scotland Cays. In addition, the Coopers Town Power Station (CTPS) is now energizing overhead lines from Crown Haven to Bahama Coral Islands and Calypso Hill. ....

BPL says all of mainland Abaco has power restored


ABACO, BAHAMAS More than a year after Hurricane Dorian, power has returned to all of mainland Abaco, according to Bahamas Power and Light (BPL).
In an update released yesterday, BPL said it was “pleased to announce that all of mainland Abaco is now powered from two sites Coopers Town Power Station (CTPS) and Wilson City Power Station (WCPS)”.
“CTPS is now energizing overhead lines from Crown Haven to Leisure Lee,” the company said.
“On January 21, Red Bay Subdivision became the last mainland settlement to have power (or access to power).
“It should be noted that the power is now available and accessible across the mainland [but] it is up to customers and the Ministry of Works to ensure that customers are able to connect to the power that is now available.” ....
