Die neue Bundesregierung müsse schnell an die Arbeit und wichtige Weichenstellungen vornehmen, sagte Hoffmann, Vorsitzender des Deutschen Gewerkschaftsbundes (DGB). Wenn wir wirklich Dekarbonisierung und Digitalisierung zum wirtschaftlichen Erfolg machen wollen, dann muss Politik mutig sein und investieren, damit sich die Lebensbedingungen der Menschen deutlich verbessern.
Dabei gehe es auch darum, die Kommunen zu stärken, denn ein GroÃteil der Investitionen liefe über sie. Die Menschen müssen vor Ort erfahren, dass der Wandel sich für sie positiv auswirkt. Wenn die Kommunen durch Schuldenbremsen zum Sparen verdonnert sind, dann gibt es weniger öffentliche Schwimmbäder und Bibliotheken, dann steigen kommunale Gebühren. Dann wird weniger investiert in moderne Infrastruktur, in moderne Schulen. Dann geht letztlich Akzeptanz für Politik flöten.
