EOHU instances of COVID-19 variant up 15% in three weeks

CORNWALL – The region’s top doctor is troubled by the rapidly increasing number of cases of the highly-transmissible COVID-19 variants of concern (VOCs).
Dr. Paul Roumeliotis says the percentage of all positive cases that are VOCs has increased from 13.6 per cent three weeks ago (Feb. 25) to 28.4 per cent during the last week.
Now he believes it’s a race against getting people vaccinated and the spread of variant cases.
There are now 40 confirmed variant cases spread across the region – all but one of them are presumed to be the B117 U.K. variant. That’s up from 25 on Thursday (March 11). ....
