prominent figures, many who had been previously linked to epstein, like former presidents bill clinton and donald trump, were named in the filings, though not accused of any wrongdoing. the documents stem from a civil defamation lawsuit that was settled in 2017 by virginia roberts giuffre against epstein s former confidant ghislaine maxwell. the unsealed filings contain a 2016 deposition from one of epstein s alleged victims, juwana schoberg. there was some new information that came out especially with respect to the deposition of joanna schoberg and understanding who she is in this whole epstein web. she was the primary accuser of prince andrew. many of this information was her firsthand accounts of what she had seen, observed and heard in her dealings with epstein. reporter: schoberg recalled that epstein spoke to her about bill clinton. quote, one time he said that clinton liked them young, referring to girls. when asked if clinton was a friend of epstein she said she

of everybody who was involved with that starting with ghislaine maxwell. reporter: maxwell was arrested one year later. in their sentencing memorandum, maxwell s attorneys implored the judge to take notice of maxwell s academic degrees, entrepreneurial work ethic and her support of charitable organizations throughout the years. ms. maxwell cannot and should not bear all the punishment for which epstein should have been held responsible. additionally, they include letters from maxwell s family and close friends. the effect of our father s psychologically abusive treatments of her foreshadowed epstein s own ability to exploit, manipulate and control her. her family is expected at the hearing. maxwell s brother summed up the family s feelings last year in an interview with sky news. i accept that these accusers were victims of jeffrey epstein. what i do not accept is that they were victims of ghislaine
