Yesterday they told us they are expecting winds up to 30 to 35 Miles Per Hour at the top of the Santa Cruz Mountains and that they are expecting those flames to shift in the opposite direction so thats the challenge they are facing this weekend. Of the san mateo bridge. A stunning loss for the San Pablo Police department. One of its officers was killed yesterday in an accident as he rode his motorcycle to work. As joe vazquez reports, the death of officer ken zink will be felt deeply at a local school. It was rough. A lot of students in pain. Reporter principal Jessica Petrilli says officer ken zink was one of a kind, the School Resource officer. There wasnt a Single Person who said i just talked to him yesterday. I swear that was the number one response i heard. Reporter officer zink died on his motorcycle on 80 in vallejo. He collided with a car then a freightliner a commercial truck pulling a trailer. He died on the scene. He spent the last nine years as a San Pablo Police officer, El Cerrito Police for six years before that. And he was also an officer in the u. S. Coast guard.
